I've had a cough for a year.
We tried lots and lots of cures.
Thought it was nothing to fear,
perhaps an allergy or itch.

But an x-ray showed spots
on my lungs of all places.
This prompted more plots
for things to investigate.

Today they found a big tumor
on my kidney it should not be.
Cancer and not good is the rumor
the extent of the harm we will find.

I see the Oncologist on Thursday
to firm up the odds and the plan.
More info will come so they say,
and to you I will send as I have.
